The first recipients of Scottish direct farm payments should finally start to receive their money by the end of the month.
In order to avoid any further delays the 2015 payment will be paid in two parts with the first worth a minimum of 70% of the total value of Basic Payment scheme, Greening and Young Farmers payments.
The government has estimated that the majority of farmers should receive their initial payment by the end of January 2016 with the balance due to be settled by April 2016.
With monies being received later than the historic timing of Single Farm Payment it will be even more important to review the farm cash flow.
