Chancellor Osbourne has announced that he will unveil an emergency budget on 8th July, his second in four months. In this budget we expect him to lay out in more detail how he plans to implement the key changes laid out in the Conservative election manifesto. These will include plans to raise the tax free personal allowance, to raise the higher rate tax threshold and his long awaited plans to increase the inheritance tax threshold. We also expect to see the details of how the Chancellor will make the £12 billion a year savings from the welfare bill whilst protecting the most vulnerable in society.
As always, Drummond Laurie will keep you fully updated with all of the changes announced and how they will affect you. If, in the meantime you would like a chat about this or any other financial matters, please email david.wheeler@drummondlaurie.co.uk
