As our summer interns head off for a few weeks of holiday before returning to university we put them on the spot and asked them to write us a few words on their time with us.

“My internship at Drummond Laurie has given me a great insight into what working at a professional firm is like. Not only has it furthered my ambition to become a chartered accountant after graduation, but it has also given me the opportunity to learn from a great team! The ten week period has allowed me the perfect amount of time to work on many different pieces of work for different clients and to get to know everyone in the office. During this time, one of the main things that have stood out to me about Drummond Laurie is the emphasis placed on genuine client relationships and the fact that everyone is willing to go that extra mile for their clients. This work ethic will stick with me after I finish the internship in August and I hope to adapt this into my own working life as an accountant in the future.” Kelly Dawson

Working here over the past 10 weeks has been my first real experience of working in a professional office environment. From my very first day everyone has been incredibly friendly, inclusive and approachable, making the whole experience very enjoyable. Everyone has always had the time to pass on their own knowledge, making my short time here very beneficial to my ongoing degree. I have loved the exposure to different types of work, the variety has been great with no two sets of accounts ever being the same to manage. To have been offered the opportunity to work in such a friendly office environment whilst being able to learn new and invaluable skills has been a privilege.
