Do you need to register for self-assessment? If you fall into one of the following categories, then the answer might be yes;
· Are you a self-employed sole trader, earning more than £1,000?
· A partner in either a general or limited liability partnership?
· Do you receive rental income?
· Are you an individual earning more than £100,000 in a tax year?
Your 2022/23 self-assessment tax return will be due by the 31st January 2024 if it is being submitted online (31st October 2023 if the return is to be filed on paper). Any tax or national insurance due will be payable by 31st January 2024.
Already in the self-assessment system? Please don’t delay in organising for your tax return to be prepared and submitted to HMRC. The sooner the return is submitted, the sooner you will be aware of your tax liability.
